Private Residence
Cologne, MN
Located on a 170 acre horse ranch, this home is constructed almost entirely of ICF blocks. The foundation and above grade walls are build using hollow, fiberglass reinforced styrofoam blocks. The blocks are then filled with poured concrete which provides a very strong, very enegry efficient structure. Our walls will exceed R45 insulation. The home will be heated using an advanced geothermal system, distributed through hydronic in-floor heat systems.
Though nearly 12,000 sq. ft, this home will cost little to heat on a monthly basis.
Many other cutting edge products are being used in this home – tru-slate lightweight slate roofing, lutron lighting control systems & other home automation systems, as well as time tested products such as hand made oregon fir truss details… Check back often for project updates. This is a unique project!
