Private Residence

Minneapolis, Lake Harriet

Described by many visitors as an urban retreat, this home was designed for longtime Minneapolis residents that have been planning their dream home with Stonewood for over 5 years.  This home is set on a rare vacant parcel of land ust steps from the shore of lake Harriet, near the band shell.  A narrow site, this home is only 37 feet wide yet has the feel of a much larger home.  At 4400 sq. ft., it’s not a small home by any measure and it lacks no detail.

The main floor is one of the most open we’ve built.  From the front door, visitors see through the home.  A richly detailed study to the right of the foyer features a coffered ceiling of alder staied in rich cherry.  Wainscoting flanked by custom cabinetry with leaded beveled glass opposite full height book shelves….  for a small space, it has more detail than many homes!

The greatroom also features a coffered ceiling, patio doors to the front yard, fireplace with soapstone surround…  One room spills into the next as greatroom becomes dining room, which sits infront of the spacious open kitchen.  A hearth room completes the entertaining space on the main level.   A great floor plan tht incorporates the finest details of an older home with the features expected in a new, custom residence.
