Bohn’s Point, Private Residence

Lake Minnetonka, Orono, Minnesota

The dominant exterior portion emphasizes symmetry and order, while the side extensions are distinct and independent, alluding to the wide range of interior features.  Artfully designed and custom crafted elements abound throughout the main level, noticed first in the abundance of custom millwork showcased in the paneled walls, ceilings, and columns, the cabinetry embellishments, and the cased elliptical arches.  Egg and dart molding adds a touch of grace as it moves delicately around the living room ceiling.  Giving further evidence to elegance of material and design, three distinct stone tiles form a pattern and waltz across the sunroom floor, under the watchful gaze of the barrel ceiling and cupola above.

In the upper level, elaborate detail steps aside to make room for a more subdued mood.  The dreamy master suite overlooks the lake, where it’s possible to imagine a breeze and smell fresh lake air, even with the windows closed.  In the master bath, an eye-popping custom vanity cabinet rests on polished marble. To complete the picture, a dark-stained Brazilian cherry floor throughout provides a crisp edge to accentuate interior refinements.
